Get rid of scented products


Do you have an obsession with perfume? Do you swoon when people say “Oh, you smell good?” Ever wonder what’s in that label-less liquid? Well, 95 percent of the chemicals in colognes come from petroleum, so the only one properly packaged is poison.


Here’s a list that can be cut out and taped to the side of the bottle:

“Benzyl acetate causes pancreatic cancer, systemic disturbance, eye and respiratory irritation; ethanol causes fatigue, eye and respiratory irritation, and loss of muscle control; limonene causes cancer, eye irritation; linalool, a narcotic, causes respiratory disturbances,contributes to reduced motor activity, depression; and toulene is a reproductive toxin, causes headaches.”

There is a segment of the population who have reaction to chemicals. Due to previous chemical injury, the detoxification systems in these people’s bodies have been damaged, inhibiting the body’s ability to break down chemicals and making them more susceptible to their affects. Exposure causes painful, debilitating reactions that can be
life-threatening for those most affected by what is called multiple chemical sensitivity.

May is multiple chemical sensitivity awareness month in Washington and around the world. It is an opportunity to learn the truth about scented products and chemicals and join the movement toward a healthier way of life.
